Eco-friendly warmer that can be used over and over again✨
We'll warm you up on cold days 🥰
How to use
1) Press and bend the metal button inside the pocket warmer lightly until you hear a "snap" sound.
(2) The liquid inside will crystallize and heat up. (The temperature rises to about 50℃.)
The heat gradually decreases while maintaining moderate warmth and lasts for about 40 minutes (depending on the outside temperature and other usage conditions).
(It varies slightly depending on the outside temperature and other usage conditions.)
How to reuse
Place in boiling water and boil until white crystals are no longer visible (about 5 minutes). Once it has completely returned to a liquid state, cool it under running water, etc. Once cooled, it can be used again. Even after returning to a liquid state, it may crystallize if it is suddenly cooled under cold water or placed in a refrigerator.
Material
Cover: PVC / Content: Sodium acetate solution / Button: Stainless steel
Size / Round shape: 9.5 cm dia.
⭐︎ The content liquid used in the Eco Warmer is sodium acetate solution, which is also used as a food additive, so it is safe even if it is damaged and leaks. Sodium acetate is a food additive often used as a day-lasting improver.
*If the heat is not generated in one pass, pull the button to the edge and press and bend the button again.
After the heat is generated, the heat-retaining effect can be prolonged by lightly unraveling it or wrapping it in a cloth.
Please check before ordering.
Precautions for handling
Please be careful not to let the warmer continuously touch the edge of the pot when heating. The heat may scorch the warmer and damage it. Also, be careful with boiling water when reusing the warmer.
Do not heat in a microwave oven.
Do not place in a freezer.
The liquid inside is harmless, but if it gets into your eyes or mouth, rinse immediately.
Do not apply the warmer to the same part of the body for a long period of time. Doing so may cause low-temperature burns.
About Eco Warmer
Principle of warming]
The principle of heating of the warmer is based on a phenomenon called "coagulation heat". Heat is emitted when the liquid in the pocket warmer becomes solid, and this is due to the dissipation of excess energy when the energy of the liquid undergoes a phase transition to a solid in a lower energy state.
How to generate heat:
To generate heat in a rewarming warmer, press and bend the metal button inside. This stimulates the liquid inside (aqueous sodium acetate solution) to crystallize. This crystallization generates the "coagulation heat" described above. (It does not have to be a metal in particular if a similar stimulus can be given.)
[Phenomenon of solidification spreading slowly]
A phenomenon in which a liquid-like substance becomes more and more solid. This is a phenomenon that when there is a piece of nucleus solid, the liquid around it is also derived and becomes solid. It is called "crystallization" and is a phenomenon in which molecular arrangements are aligned one after another.
Sodium acetate solution]
Sodium acetate is a salt made from acetic acid and sodium. It is also used as a food additive in place of a preservative in pickles and other products. The aqueous sodium acetate solution used in rewarm pocket warmers is made by dissolving sodium acetate in purified water, and is used in rewarm pocket warmers because of its extremely stable properties even in a supercooled state*.
Supercooling:
Supercooling is a phenomenon in which a liquid does not solidify but retains its liquid state when cooled past its freezing point (= transition point). In the case of water, it is a state in which it does not freeze even at temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. It corresponds to the metastable state in the first type of phase transition. When water in a supercooled state is subjected to some stimulus (vibration, etc.), it rapidly crystallizes (inoculation freezing). If the water is in a bottle, it will freeze just by tapping it, and if you try to transfer it to another container, it will freeze as it is poured, forming a column of ice.
